I have always drawn and made art since childhood, which eventually led me to seek out a more formal education alongside my day job. I completed a foundation course in Art and Design at City of Oxford College, 1994-1996, then embarked on a part time BA in Design and Crafts at De Montfort University 2003- 2010. I then completed an MA in Contemporary Crafts at Coventry University 2010-2012.
My work initially was firmly based in textiles, but this has evolved and I now use a variety of media, primarily ceramics in the work I make today.
I take inspiration from a sense of place; in particular the Suffolk landscape, architecture and psychology. Art has been an important part of my life as well as a form of therapy. The emotional attachment to objects fascinates me and I love to discover the stories behind each object. My work is craft focussed with a fine art eye. I have exhibited regularly with Artweeks with the group WOCart since 2008 and also I have been part of the Realm collective 2018-2020.
Currently I am part of @portablecollective (2020-present) with whom I exhibited four times in 2022. My latest adventure was travelling to Bonn to link with local artists there and help curate and exhibit our “BOX” project. I continue to make art and occasionally run workshops and look forward to the next exhibition. For further information please contact me.
